Diabetes is a complex condition, and learning how to self-manage is important because your Diabetes Educator, Nurse, or Physician cannot be with you 24/7. Learn basic information with the Diabetes Self-Management (DSME) program that can make your quality of life better. Topics include diabetes physiology, healthier eating, physical activity/exercise, monitoring, taking medications, problem solving, reducing risks, and healthy coping. Prediabetes is a serious health concern.
Left untreated, Prediabetes can lead to Type 2 Diabetes, putting an individual at risk for other major health problems, including heart disease, stroke, and cancer. The Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) can help manage and possibly get blood sugars in a normal range.
The DSME and the DPP can be presented at an organization site in Northeast Ohio or delivered as an online program right to the participant's inbox. The DSME and DPP are benefits to employers and employees alike, as a healthier employee is a happier employee. The DPP is a welcome addition to an existing company wellness program offering.
Members of your community, club, or professional organization interested in a DSME or DPP can register for group virtual program(s). Please complete the contact form, call (216) 544-2828, or email info@healtheducation4u.org to schedule a free consultation.
